The Queens County Marriage Registers are comprised of three volumes, each covering a specific chronological period. The three volumes have been designated Volume A, 1812-1861; Volume B, 1861-1878; and Volume C, 1878-1888. The entries were recorded chronologically within each volume. Parishes mentioned include: Wickham, Hampstead, Cambridge, Canning, Chipman, Johnston, Gagetown, Brunswick, Waterborough and Petersville. Volume A contains an appendix of 44 marriages performed between February 1841 and May 1844 which were not registered until 25 years later, on 4 October 1869. The information provided includes the name and place of residence for the bride and groom; the date and location of the marriage; the signatures of the witnesses, and of the officiating clergyman or justice of the peace.

Finding Aids:

Each volume of registers contains an alphabetical index by the surname of the groom. The bride's name is mentioned, and the reference is accompanied by the registry entry number. The numbers are continuous throughout the three volumes.

Notes:
The dates that appear in the typed description at the beginning of the microfilm are not accurate. The reel contains marriage registers for 1812-1888.
