PLEASE NOTE: The Loyalist Collection is currently in the process of being moved. Patrons are advised to contact Microforms staff in advance to obtain access to materials. All records may not be available for use. Read further details about changes at the Harriet Irving Library.
The Loyalist Collection holds primary documents pertaining to the experiences of those supportive of the British cause during the American Revolution, including post-war resettlement. Predominantly, the material dates from 1750 to 1850 from the British Atlantic World: eastern parts of both present-day Canada and the United States, Great Britain, and the West Indies. Due to this breadth, the Collection is also a great source to shed light on many topics relevant to this period. As well, The Collection holds a selection of sources in print (see Print Materials link).
The Catalogue contains descriptions, some more detailed than others, of the over 600 records, most of which are in microfilm format and, to a lesser extent, in electronic format. For assistance using the Catalogue, a Search Tips button is available.
