Of particular significance are several volumes of militia commissions which are arranged by county and include the date of each commission. Other records include : proclamations; instructions; appointments; commissions; native/indigenous treaties; military orders; declarations; certificates; leaves of absence; marriage licenses, (frequently recorded on the same page with a totally different document); orders; licenses to teach; pardons; oaths of allegiance; notices of land forfeiture and accounts.
