Research Publications has assembled and microfilmed the most important published colonial and state records of the original thirteen colonies, Maine, and Vermont. The series is comprised of sixty-seven titles which span the years from the earliest available records for each colony until approximately 1800.

The Colonial Records of New York have been microfilmed on seventeen reels and contain thirty-two volumes of material.
CR 35. Acts of Assembly, Passed in the Province of New York from 1691-1718. There is a chronological index to New York Laws at the beginning of the reel.
CR 36. Colonial Laws of New York from the Year 1664 to the Revolution. 5 vols. Includes the Charters of the Duke of York; the Commissions and Instructions of Colonial Governors; the Duke's Laws; the Laws of Dongan and Leisler Assemblies; the Charters of Albany and New York; and the Acts of the Colonial Legislatures from 1691-1775,inclusive. Volume 1, 1664-1719; Volume 2, 1720-1737; Volume 3,1738-1755; Volume 4, 1757-1769; Volume 5, 1769-1775. An explanatory note, historical note, and other background information can be found at the beginning of each volume. There is a subject index,which includes the names of persons (an extensive list) at the end of each volume.

Volume 12, Documents Relative to the Dutch and Swedish Settlements on the Delaware River, 1624-1682.Volume 13, Documents Relating to the History and Settlement of the Towns Along the Mohawk Rivers (with the exception of Albany) from 1630-1684, and also Illustrating the Relations of the Settlers with the Indians. Volume 14 Documents Relating to the History of the Early Colonial Settlements, Principally on Long Island, 1630-1683, with a map of its western part made in 1666. Volume 15, Documents Relating to the Colonial History of the State of New York. State Archives, Volume 1. New York in the Revolution. Includes 1.) Proceedings of the Provincial Congress, Committee of Safety and Convention of New York Relating to Military Matters (29 May 1775 - 3 Sept. 1777); 2.) New York Line on the 3rd Continental Establishment 1776, lists of names, organised by regiment; The Navy (list of a few names of captains); 3.) Officers of the Levies, Militia, Minutemen, Rangers and Associated Exempts, lists of names arranged by county; and 4.) alphabetical list of the State Troops, with name, rank, regiment and company. There is a table of contents at the beginning of the volume. Several appendices and an index are located at the end of the volume.
CR 38. Journal of the Legislative Council of the Colony of New York. 2 vols. Volume 1, 9 April 1691-27 September 1743; Volume 2, 8 December 1743-11 March 1776. There is an historical introduction at the beginning of Volume 1. The General Index at the end of Volume 2 includes references for both Volume 1 and Volume 2.
CR 39. Journal of the Votes and Proceedings of the General Assembly of the Colony of New York. 2 vols. Volume 1, 9 April 1691-27 September 1743. Volume 2, 8 November 1742 - 23 December 1765. There is an index to both volumes at the end of Volume 2.
CR 40. Laws of New York from 1691-1773, Inclusive. 2 vols. There is an index to both volumes at the end of Volume 2.
CR 41. The Documentary History of the State of New York, by E.B. O'Callaghan. 4 vols. Volume 1, 1665-1774. There is a table of contents at the beginning of the volume. Maps, drawings and plans are interspersed throughout the volume and are also found at the end. A general index is located at the end of the volume. Volume 2, 1675-1804. Includes: Voter Lists of Long Island for 1675, 1676, and 1683; and Manuscripts of Sir William Johnson, 1754-1774. There are illustrations interspersed throughout the volume. Several maps and a general index are located at the end of the volume. Volume 3, 1609-1802. Includes: Lists of Palatines in Ulster County and other areas; 1767; a map of Livingston Manor, 1798, which contains the locations of settlements; and a map of Renselaerwick Manor, 1767. Volume 4, 1641-1799. Contains the Memoir of Rev. John Stuart. There are maps, plans, pictures and an index at the end of the volume. Each volume contains a detailed table of contents at the beginning of the volume.
CR 42. Laws and ordinances of New Netherland,1638-1674, compiled and translated from the original Dutch Records in the Office of the Secretary of State in Albany, New York, by E.B. O'Callaghan. There is a preface and table of contents at the beginning of the volume, and a general index at the end.
