Background:

Research Publications has assembled and made available in microfilm the most important published colonial and state records of the original Thirteen Colonies, Maine and Vermont. The series is comprised of sixty seven titles and spans the years from the earliest available records of each colony until approximately 1800.

Contents:

The Connecticut colonial records have been microfilmed on nine reels.They contain fifteen volumes of material plus two titles/volumes of laws and statutes.

CR 1. Acts and Laws of His Majesty's English Colony of Connecticut in New England in America, 1715-1775. Includes the charter granted by King Charles 11 of England in 1662, and a alphabetical subject index called, Alphabetical Table.

CR 2. The Laws of Connecticut, 1673. Includes an alphabetical subject index called, Alphabetical Table.

CR 3. The Public Records of the State of Connecticut, 1776-1792. 7 vols. Volumes 1-5 include the Journal of the Council of Safety, 11 October 1776-15 November 1783. The tables of contents for Volumes 4-7 contain lengthy introductory material. Volumes 1, 2, 3, have a subject and name index at the end of each volume. The index for Volume 4 and 5 is at the end of Volume 5. Volumes 6 and 7 have an index at the end of each volume.

CR 4. Records of the Colony and Plantation of New Haven, 1638-1665. 2 vols. Includes the New Haven Code of 1656. Volume 1 and Volume 2 have a subject and name index at the end of each volume.

CR 5. Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut 1636-1776. 15 vols, Volume 15 includes the Journal of the Council of Safety, 7 June 1775-2 October 1776, and an Appendix containing portions of Council Journals, 1663-1710. There is a General Index at the end of each volume.
