Background:

"Abstract of Reports for Grants of Land made by the Surveyor-General of Lands for the Province of Nova Scotia to the Surveyor-General of His Majesty's Woods, on which certificates have been granted conformable to the Royal Instructions." The reports for the land grants were made by the Surveyor-General of Lands to the Surveyor-General of His Majesty's Woods and on the basis of these reports settlement certificates were granted.

Contents:

The information in the Abstract is very detailed and contains the following: the date when the Report was received; the date of the certificate; the grantees' names; the township and county in which the grant was made; the number of acres requested and received; the name of the agent (surveyor) involved; and the amount of the fees due and received. 

The arrangement is chronological and in a table format, approximately 40 pages.
