Background:

After 1818 the Surveyor General assigned most locations on the authority of a Warrant. As in the case of the Fiats and Warrants issued under the old Regulations, the Warrants have been preserved according to certain categories of settlers or under the Regulations of a specific date.

Contents:

Volume 17 contains entries in two series:

(a) Docket Book for Warrants of Survey : New Regulations, 22 December 1797, covering the period from June 1798 - January 1837.
(b) Fiats under New Regulations for which Survey Money has been paid, July 1801 - February 1848.

Volume 18 contains two series:

(a) Fiats under New Regulations from February 1803 - November 1808.
(b) Fiats issued under Full Fees Regulations of July 1804 and dating from 1804-1816. The information provided includes the following: name, date, date entered, by whom, location/lot, concession, township and description.
