Contents:
The Executive Council Records that have been microfilmed on this reel vary greatly in subject matter. The reel begins with two sections of Petitions for Assistance, submitted during a sixty-year period from 1795 until 1846.

Included are: petitions from individuals, most of whom are elderly Loyalist soldiers or their widows; schedules and certificates for assistance to Revolutionary War veterans or their widows; petitions from the Overseers of the Poor in various parishes requesting additional assistance, and including many personal details about the individuals under their care; petitions to the government regarding alms houses, with numerous signatures attached; documents detailing assistance to Madawaska settlers, the poor in Fredericton, and seamen; three sections of requests for Letters of Marque addressed to the Lieutenant Governor or President of the Council; several government proclamations; and a section on evidence given before the Provincial Normal School Investigation concerning the management of the internal affairs of the Normal School.
