The National Archives of Canada has prepared a nominal index to the four volumes of Haldimand transcripts which contain a wealth of information on Loyalist regiments and the settlement of Loyalist refugees. Both the index and the transcript volumes have been microfilmed on one reel. Included are a great many personal names contained in regimental muster rolls; subsistence lists; lists of prisoners; lists of women and children belonging to various provincial corps; pay rolls; returns of refugee Loyalists; lists of settlers who applied to go to a particular area, or who have been assigned a settlement location; returns of officers and men who served in a particular campaign; lists of casualties; lists of pensioners; returns of refugees and disbanded troops lodged and victualed in various locations and townships; lists of artificers; and many other petitions, lists, states and returns.
