- Background:
Charlotte Winslow was a direct descendant of Edward Winslow, a prominent Loyalist who settled in New Brunswick, and Governor Edward Winslow of the Plymouth colony. Her father, John Norman Wentworth Winslow (1860-1942), who married Ella Gertrude VanWart (1865-1955), was the son of John Coffin Winslow (1826-1896) and Charlotte Lusby O'Donnell (1838-1928). Charlotte Winslow was born and educated in Woodstock, New Brunswick, attended the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton, and taught in the Woodstock elementary schools for her entire career.

The reel contains five items which have been microfilmed in the following order: documents concerning the estate of the late Samuel D'Embree, a Loyalist, 1804; a letter from Sarah Hyatt to her son Nathaniel Hyatt of Amherst, Nova Scotia, urging him to return to White Plains, New York, 1791; a letter written by Edward Winslow defending his use of public funds in the performance of his official duties, Kingsclear, New Brunswick, 1802; a letter from James Fraser of Halifax to Edward Winslow, Kingsclear, New Brunswick, concerning business matters, 1812; and a personal letter from Edward Winslow to his daughter Mary in Saint John, New Brunswick, 1792.

- The papers contained on this reel appear to have been in the possession of Charlotte Winslow at the time of microfilming in 1974. Their present location is unknown, but historical documents belonging to Charlotte Winslow were donated to UNB Archives & Special Collections, and now are held as the Charlotte Winslow Collection Fonds: MG H 177.
