Areas/places specifically mentioned include: Passamaquoddy Bay, St. Andrews, St. John River, Beaver Harbour, Etang, Halifax, Shelburne, Chester and Nine Mile River. British Regiments, one German Regiment, and several Loyalist Provincial Corps are named and they include: 74th Regiment, 70th Regiment, 42nd Regiment, Regiment of Specht, Royal Fencible Americans, Kings Orange Rangers, and Royal Garrison Battalion. Numerous other lists include disbanded officers and soldiers, African Americans (Negroes is the term used in the documents), German settlers, Penobscot Loyalists, as well as many lists, returns, and abstracts of Loyalist refugees. There are a number of letters from Thomas Knox, deputy muster-master of Loyalists for the St. John River and Passamaquoddy, to Edward Winslow, muster-master general, which concern the settlement and provisioning of Loyalists.
