This series contains miscellaneous correspondence and enclosures addressed to the Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada or his office and to the Governor of Lower Canada or his office. Included in the Records are letters and enclosures; addresses; reports from private persons; and from provincial officials in both Upper and Lower Canada. A substantial amount of correspondence from the Military Secretary is included, as well as from the Attorney General, Inspector General, Customs Office, and Indian Department. The material is arranged in chronological order but with subdivisions for the political sections of the country. Only a portion of these records are held in the Loyalist Collection.
