This lower court had the responsibility and the authority to try civil cases. The Queens County Court sat at Gagetown as early as 1788. The Record Book contains the names of the justices who presided over the court; the name of the clerk, the constable, and the jurors who were summoned and sworn for each cause; the names of the plaintiff and the defendant, as well as the lawyers and witnesses; the verdict and the sentence.
The second section of the reel contains the records of the Court of Chancery in an action by the complainants George Hayward, William Barker and William Davidson against the defendant James Symonds. The documents are dated 1787 and 1788.
The last section of the reel contains only one item. While the typed leader states that Beverly Robinson's land grant includes four pages and a plan of the lot, only the beginning portion of the first page was microfilmed.
