The Northumberland County Marriage Registers contain marriage records from the parishes of Newcastle, Alwick, Ludlow, Carleton, Chatham, Richibucto, Nelson, Buctouche, Tracadie, Saumarez, Beresford, Wellington, Blissfield, Blackville, Caraquet, Northesk, Glenelg, Petit Rocher, Bay du Vin, Portland, Carleton, Nipisiguit. 

Each record contains the name and place of residence of both the bride and groom; the date and location of the marriage; the signatures of the witnesses, and of the clergyman or justice of the peace who performed the ceremony. The register entries are numbered and recorded chronologically.
