Background:

The Parishes of York County which had been established before 1837 include: Fredericton, Kingsclear, Prince William, St. Mary's, Queensbury, Northampton, Woodstock, Douglas, Southampton, and Dumfries.

Contents:
The Register contains a record of marriages performed by members of the clergy and by justices of the peace. Each record includes the name and place of residence for both the bride and the groom; the location and date of the marriage; the name of the clergyman or justice of the peace who performed the ceremony, and whether by the authority of a licence or the publication of banns; and the names of the witnesses.

Two volumes of York County Marriage Registers have been included on this microfilm reel. The dates are as follows:
Volume 1, 10 July 1812 - 31 December 1825;
Volume 2, 1 January 1826 - 31 December 1831.

Included on the same reel is an "Index to Marriages Previous to the Act of 1812 and Registered Among the Minutes of the General Sessions" with page references to the Session Records. The dates are January 1789 - June 1817.

In addition to the two volumes of marriage registers and the index to marriages in the York County Sessions, the reel contains a record of births, 1887-1905, and deaths, 1887-1904, from the Stanley and Nashwaak areas. The deaths are recorded in the Presbyterian Church registers by Reverend James S. Mullan. Judging from the handwriting and the dates and places of residence, it would appear that the birth records are from the same church register.
