Material Description:
1 microfilm textual records (2 volumes) ; 35 mm
Contents:

The two volumes of Annapolis Township Records which have been microfilmed on this reel are very different in content. The first part of the reel contains a detailed record of Town Meetings, 1790-1853. The names of the Moderator, the Constables and the Overseers of the Poor are recorded for each meeting. The meetings were usually held in private homes and the name of the owner is given. Much of the business that came before the meeting dealt with the work of the Overseers and the taxes that supported their activities.

The second part of the reel contains the Annapolis Grand Jury Book, 1786-1800. Town officers are listed for the Townships of Annapolis, Granville, Wilmot, Long and Briar Islands, Digby, Clements and Clare, along with the offices to which they have been recommended for appointment. The issue which came before the Grand Jury most frequently was the request for the construction of roads and bridges.
