            Each indenture describes in great detail the agreement  between the parties involved in a land transaction, whether it is a conveyance, sale, mortgage, grant, or lease of a plot of land.  Approximately one-half of the Books have an internal index by name referring to the page on which the indenture can be found.  The Books are numbered in chronological order.

            An index by surname to the complete collection of Land Registry Books is available on two microfilm reels.
 

Reel 1 is an index by the name of the person FROM whom the land is conveyed.

 Reel 2 is an index by the name of the person TO whom the land is conveyed.

A microfilm shelf list, giving the reel number, book number,
dates and individual volume index information is available in print.
