Background:
            A record of the evidence presented and the decision rendered by a jury summoned by the Coroner in the name of the King to inquire into how, when, where, and by what means the person named came to his/her death.
            
Contents:
            The information contained in the inquests includes the date, place, and time of the inquisition, the names of the deceased and of the coroner, the name and signature or mark and seal of each member of the jury, the decision as to the cause of death, and the date of the hearing.  Court costs are included in some cases.  The record of proceedings is extensive and detailed when the death is the result of a serious crime.
