This microfilm reel contains two volumes of marriage licences : Volume 1, 1831-1843, and Volume 2, 1844-1851. The licences were issued, most probably, by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor's Secretary. Marriages are recorded by the date on which they were performed. The home town and/or lot number are given for both the bride and the groom. The name of the officiating clergyman or Justice of the Peace is given, but parents' names are not included. There is no index. A list of tavern and store licences for 1843 is included at the end of the reel.
