The first licence ledger contains a list of marriages from 1787 - 1805 and another list from 1812 - 1813, issued by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor's Private Secretary. The ledger also includes lists of persons who have been issued tavern licences; licences of occupation for land; licences to sell liquors by retail; lists of petitions issued for town pasture lots; militia commissions; letters written to individuals; land grant certificates issued by the Lieutenant Governor; licences to practise law; and commissions and licences for various offices. |
