Background:

The territory that comprises the County of Frontenac was a part of the much larger Midland District, renamed from Mecklenburg by the first Parliament of Upper Canada in 1792. Consequently, the earliest Minutes for Frontenac County are those of the Midland District.

Contents:

The volumes contain, primarily, the Minutes of the judicial function of the Court, although there are entries regarding accounts, assessments, constables, ferry fees, etc. 

Other administrative records of the Sessions appear in the Minutes (Adjourned Sessions) 1835-1849, e.g. appeals against taxes, renewal of tavern licences, etc.
