These very early Minutes provide a fascinating glimpse of early municipal government in the first years of settlement. In 1800 the Sessions Court met in the jurors' homes. The main business of the Court concerned roads; appointments, including that of the Justice of the Peace; the levying of fees for various services; oaths of office; and all other matters that would be of concern to a local government body.
