Minutes of the Land Committee of the Executive Council : 1787-1867.

            Separate minute books were kept to record matters brought before the Land Committee of the Executive Council, 1841-1867, and of its predecessors in Quebec, 1787-1791, and Upper and Lower Canada, 1791-1841.
            

            The books are divided into four series as follows: Minutes of the Land Committee of the Legislative Council of Quebec, 1787-1791 (Volumes 1-2);
Minutes of the Land Committee of the Executive Council of Lower Canada, 1791-1835 (Volumes 3-4 and 13-17);
Minutes of the Land Committee of the Executive Council of Upper Canada, 1791-1841 (Volumes 18-39);
 and Minutes of the Land Committee of the Executive Council of the United Province of Canada, 1841-1867 (Volumes 40-48). 


Each volume contains a nominal index or rough table of contents.
             

            A nominal card index on microfilm includes petitioners' names in both the Upper Canada Land Petitions and the Executive Council Minute Books on Land Matters.
