Colonial Records of Massachusetts : 1620 - 1786.

            Research Publications has assembled and made available in microfilm the most important published colonial and state records of the original Thirteen Colonies, Maine and Vermont. The series is comprised of sixty-seven titles and spans the years from the earliest available records of each colony until approximately 1800.            

            The Colonial Records of Massachusetts have been microfilmed on twenty-three reels and contain eighty-two volumes of material. 
 CR 21. The Acts and Resolves, Public and Private, of the Province of Massachusetts Bay, 1692-1786. 21 vols. Volume 1, 1692-1714; Volume 2, 1715-1742; Volume 3, 1742-1756; Volume 4, 1757-1768; Volume 5, 1769-1780. There is an Index of Names,  General Index, and List of Acts and Resolves arranged by date at the end of each volume. A lengthy Preface is located at the beginning of Volume 1. Volume 6, 1692-1780. This volume of Private Acts is followed by a name index. Volume 7, 1692-1702; Volume 8, 1703-1707; Volume 9, 1708-1720; Volume 10, 1720-1726 Volume 11, 1726-1734; Volume 12, 1734-1741; Volume 13, 1741-1746; Volume 14, 1714-1753; Volume 15, 1753-1756; Volume 16, 1757-1760; Volume 17, 1761-1764 Volume 18, 1765-1774; Volume 19, 1775-1776; Volume 20, 1777-1778; Volume 21, 1779-1780. Volumes 7-21 contain a Name Index, General Index, and Index of Laws and Resolves arranged by date at the end of each volume.

 CR 25. Records of the Court of Assistants of the Colony of Massachusetts Bay, 1630-1692. 3 vols. There is an introduction at the beginning of each volume and a general index at the end. The third volume contains restored fragments of records from 1642-1673. 
 CR 26. Records of the Colony of New Plymouth in New England,1620-1692. 12 vols. Court Orders.  Volume 1, 1633-1640; Volume 2, 1641-1651; Volume 3, 1651-1661; Volume 4, 1661-1668; Volume 5, 1668-1678; Volume 6, 1678-1691. There is a general index at the end of each volume Judicial Acts. Volume 7, 1636-1692, index; Miscellaneous Records. Volume 8, 1633-1689. At the end of this volume there are several lists: List of Names of Freemen and others; Alphabetical Index of Births, Marriages, Deaths and Burials; Indexes of Towns, Places and Clerks; and an Index to Treasury Accounts etc.  Acts of the Commissioners of the United Colonies of New England. Volume 9, 1643-1651; Volume 10, 1653-1679. Laws. Volume 11, 1623-1682; Deeds. Volume 12, 1620-1651, Book of Indian Records for their Lands.  There is introductory material at the beginning of most volumes in this Colonial Records group.  Each volume has a general index at the end.
CR 27. Records of the Governor and Company of the Massachusetts Bay in New England. 5 vols. Volume 1, 1628-1641; Volume 2, 1642-1649; Volume 3, 1644-1657; Volume 4, Part 1, 1650-1686.  Introductory remarks and a table of contents are provided at the beginning of each volume, and a general index and an Index of Freeman are located at the end.
