During the American Revolution, the brothers John and Xenophon Jouet (Jewett) served as ensigns with the New Jersey Volunteers. John was attached to the First Battalion and Xenophon was with the Third Battalion. Both men settled at St. Mary's, New Brunswick.

The reel contains the genealogical chart for the Jouet (Jewett) family, following the line from Xenophon (1760-1843), husband to Gertrude Garrison (Van Wagner)(1763-1840/41). They had ten children: Abigail, Sarah, Susan, Cavalier, Thomas, Ann, John, Gertrude, Beverly and Isaac. According to the chart, several of the children married into the following families: King, Agnew, Beckwith, Wilmot, and Needham. The last date on the chart refers to Thomas William Lawson, (d.1936), and husband of Gertrude M. from California. Gertrude is a direct descendant of Xenophon's daughter, Ann. |
