- Background:
Ebenezer Cutler was a resident of Northborough, Massachusetts before the American Revolution. For his loyalty to the crown, charges were made against him by the local Committee of Correspondence. Eventually, the charges reached Congress with the result that he was allowed to go to Boston, but without his possessions.
In 1776 he came to Halifax with the British, and in 1778 he was proscribed and banished by Massachusetts. He settled in Nova Scotia where, in 1801, he was granted 1442 acres of land in Digby Township. He became a general merchant and protonotary for Annapolis County, 1824-1829, and died there in 1831.

The quality of the microfilm is so poor that much of the reel is illegible. However, a few pages can be read. Included are the names of justices, cases heard, and bills of cost.
The Invoice Book is divided between invoices outward and expenses inward.
