|Description:||15 microfiches records () ;|
A microfiche reproduction of the Second Report of the Bureau of Archives for the Province of Ontario, 1904. The Report was the published version of the transcription made by Mr. Canniff Haight from the original evidence taken before the commissioners and deposited in the Library of Congress. Ten volumes were missing when Mr. Haight made the transcription. These have been reconstructed and published by W. Bruce Antliff in Loyalist Settlements: New Evidence of Canadian Loyalist Claims. Toronto: Ministry of Citizenship and Culture, 1985.
The evidence books usually contain a wealth of information about the claimant, including his sufferings and losses at the hands of the rebels; his former place of residence; the date and place of his appearance before the commissioners; and the supporting evidence of witnesses.
