The microfilm reel contains five separate and distinct Supreme Court records. The first item on the reel is a Record Book, 1785-1809, which gives an abstract of the Court proceedings for each case. The microfilm does not include the case files. There are two complete nominal indexes to the Book, one at the beginning and the other at the end of the volume. Each index relates to specific pages, with the names in the first one hundred pages appearing in the first index and the remainder in the latter one. The second and third sections of the reel contain two Supreme Court Cost Books, 1786-1800 and 1825-1834. The Books give a very detailed account of court costs for each term. There is a nominal index at the end of the earlier Cost Book and another at the beginning of the latter book. Pages 129-178 are missing from the second book. The fourth item on the reel is a second Supreme Court Record Book, 1818-1824, which contains an index at the end of the volume. The fifth, and last, section is entitled, Drafts of Declarations Filed in the Supreme Court of Common Pleas, 1787-1808. |
