The Journals contain memorials from individuals on their own behalf, and memorials from groups of settlers who are petitioning the Governor in Council under the name of one individual. The memorials are recorded in chronological order and include the geographical location of the land; the names of the petitioners with, in many cases, a detailed description of the land in question; and the decision of the Council. |

Researchers should consult the microfilm shelf list for the dates of all the individual volumes. The title of the Journal varies. Several volumes are entitled Journal of Proceedings Relating to Location of Land. The printed description on the microfilm contains inaccurate inclusive dates. RS 8 has been re-organised by the Provincial Archives since the film was produced. |
