Background:
            The first Anglican Parish in Niagara was established in 1792 by Robert Addison, a missionary of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. The church building was erected between 1804 and 1809.  It was severely damaged during the War of 1812-1814 but had been rebuilt by 1822. Alterations were carried out in the mid and late nineteenth century.            
Contents:
            The collection was microfilmed in two parts, each with its own reel. The first reel contains the earlier records of the parish. These include: registers of baptisms, marriages and burials, 1792-1879; confirmation lists, 1830-1954; minutes of the Niagara District Committee of the Society for Promotion of Christian Knowledge, 1826-1830; and vestry minutes of St. Mark's Church, 1842-1898.

The second reel contains records relating to the role of the parish in the community. Included are: Fort George Garrison Registry, 1821-1849; registers of Rev. Thomas Green, Rector of Niagara, 1826-1839; register of marriages and baptisms, Queenston, Upper Canada, 1821-1826; minutes and reports of St. Mark's Womens' Auxilliary, 1901-1924;  and minutes, reports and attendance of 'Willing Workers' of St. Mark's Church, 1896-1937.
