This microfilm reel contains "Estimates of the Charge of Maintaining and Supporting the Civil Establishment of His Majesty's Colony of Nova Scotia for the year . . ." There is a record of the estimates for each year, with a few exceptions. Salaries and allowances are listed in detail. A few examples are as follows: Lieutenant Governor, 1000; Chief Justice, 850; Surveyor General of Lands, 150; Bishop, 700; Superintendent of the Fishery, 200; Governor of Kings College in Nova Scotia for the salaries of the professors and other expenses, 1000. After 1820, expenses for Cape Breton appear in the lists. The documents are arranged chronologically. |
